Applied data science from question to use
I am a marketing data scientist and analytics consultant with more than four years of relevant experience. My work covers measurement, forecasting, experiments, NLP, document retrieval, and the data preparation needed to make those methods usable.
I earned a B.A. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from the University of South Florida. Statistics and econometrics taught me to define the outcome, comparison, and uncertainty before interpreting a result. I later taught myself Python and SQL because those were the tools required to put the analysis into recurring workflows.
Ringer Sciences
From November 2021 through February 2024, I worked as a Data Scientist at Ringer Sciences, a marketing analytics consultancy. I worked across more than six client engagements.
The work included marketing mix and forecasting models, A/B test design, daily NLP pipelines processing more than two million social posts, recurring healthcare marketing dashboards, a document-retrieval tool, dbt models, and GCP ETL documentation. Clients and internal analysts used the outputs to review channel budgets, content plans, and prior research.
Independent consulting
Since February 2024, I have worked independently across food and beverage, agriculture, and consumer businesses. I have analyzed local demand, POS baskets, pricing, paid campaigns, lead conversion, customer value, and offline attribution.
This work moved me closer to the operating decision. In a small business, a missing identifier can matter more than a more complicated model. A useful analysis may begin by deciding how a future visit will be recorded.
Applied AI
I use language models where they reduce writing or search effort, but I separate them from calculation and checking. My public economic analytics project computes claims in Python, uses a language model to draft prose, and verifies the displayed values against SQLite. My client retrieval work indexes internal documents and returns passages that a user can inspect.
Outside work
I paint while traveling because it forces me to observe a place more slowly than a camera does. The painting pages include work from Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Chile, and Mount St. Helens.
